What a Slip! Or was it?

In a rare departure from the Edwards-bashing yesterday, Fox News ran a detailed story about the Scott Peterson trial at about 7:14 pm ET.
Shepard Smith introduced the story by saying "'I am not having an affair.' Those were the words of accused wife- and baby-killer Scott Peterson."
Did Shepard Smith realize he was saying that Peterson IS a killer who has been accused? Hey, Mr. Smith, in our justice system Mr. Peterson is an alleged wife- and baby-killer or he is accused OF wife- and baby-killing until the jury decides otherwise. The way you put it, Peterson is guilty before the trial is over.
