Hitting on Hillary Again

Reported by Judy - July 2, 2004 -

Yesterday's blog entry noted that conservative Bill Kristol urged Fox and Friends to use their influence to try to force John Kerry to pick Sen. Hillary Clinton as his running mate. Were the Fox-Friends following his order today (July 2)?

At 8:12 a.m. EDT, the Fox-Friends reported that New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, D-New Mexico, sent a letter to John Kerry saying he did not want to be considered for the vp slot, something Richardson said on Fox on February 16.

After some discussion about who was left -- Gephardt, Vilsack, etc. -- E.D. Hill piped up as the segment was ending and asked rhetorically, "What about Hillary?"

Just following orders.

Fox News Live also trotted out the "Hillary for VP" line at 9:57 a.m. EDT by replaying an appearance of pollster Dick Morris on Bill O'Reilly's show from last night. Morris promoted Senator Clinton Hillary for the slot on the grounds that she would bring many women to the ticket and break the deadlock with Bush. O'Reilly said he didn't think it would happen.

Then Morris said something strange: "I would not sell life insurance to someone who has Hillary as his vice president."

Was Morris suggesting Senator Clinton would attempt to assassinate John Kerry? Even O'Reilly didn't want to go there.
