Two Different Accounts
Reported by Deborah - July 1, 2004 -
FNC and NBC had two different accounts of
Sadam Hussein's court appearance. Fox
and friends had this to say. (7/01/04 7:40 AM )
George Di Ginova, joined the chatty group, to
discuss Saddam's appearance in court. According
to their account, still president of Iraq" and
calling the Kuwaiti people "dogs."
George Di Ginova ,Fox legal mind, made these cracks.
" Sounds like he's getting defense advice from George
Soros and Michael Moore"
In reference to Sadam's lack of lawyers today he quipped,
"George Soros and Ramsey Clark are financing a French
lawyer for him."
Soon after at 8:AM, NBC described the scene quite
differently.NBC reported that Sadam was very
anxious to learn if the court was Iraqi or American.
Sadam commented, " This is all theater."
After his rights and charges against him were explained,
Sadam, in response to the charges about Kuwait replied,
" I was acting to defend my people."
Comments: It's pretty much the same story but while NBC was
objective , FNC's rendition was tainted with innuendo and
questionable interpretation. The jabs at Moore, Ramsey Clark,
and Soros were inappropriate slander.
