Reading the Fine Print

Reported by Judy - July 1, 2004 -

Fox News doesn't overlook any means of filtering the news it presents in such a way as to favor George Bush and the Republicans. Their efforts today (July 1) even extended to the editing of the news ticker at the bottom of their screen.

Throughout Fox News Live from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. EDT, the news ticker reported over and over that a wild fire was burning in Arizona, along with details about Saddam's court appearance.

At the same time, over on MSNBC, that network's ticker was reporting a poll that found 47 percent of Americans think Bush lied about WMD in order to get the nation into war and 40 percent thought he was truthful. It also reported on a study which found that one in every eight American soldiers returning from Iraq suffers from post-traumatic stress syndrome. None of that was on Fox.

When it comes to watching Fox, you need to read the fine print with a grain of salt.
