Making up negatives

Reported by Chrish - June 30, 2004 -

Carl Cameron, reporting on Fox News Live June 28 at 3:34 EDT, let us know what John Kerry did NOT say about the handover in Iraq.

According to Campaign Carl, Kerry "did NOT congratulate president Bush, did NOT praise the international coalition ....and did NOT congratulate the Iraqis..." (his emphasis) on their new country. Kerry did offer "predictable praise" to the troops in Iraq, and we were treated to a short clip of Senator Kerry speaking about the hard work and sacrifices made to get to this point. From what we were allowed to see, it was a predictable Kerry speech; dignified, sincere, and coherent (how sad we even have to use that as a barometer).

Campaign Carl also tried to impugn Kerry for cancelling a long-planned trip to Boston. Police and firefighters were threatening to picket, and Kerry chose to not cross the picket line.

Comment: Somehow, Kerry's integrity and respect for unionized workers doesn't strike me (sorry) as a bad thing. I can picture the incumbent swaggerin' up to the picketers, saying 'bring 'em on'. We know he doesn't care about those guys, 'cuz we've seen his budgets!
