Forgotten Hostage

Reported by Judy - June 30, 2004 -

Remember all the hype over U.S. soldiers captured during the early months of the war on Iraq? Why isn't the Marine being held by insurgents now getting the same level of concern?

The Marines have changed the status of Corporal Wassef Ali Hassoun from "missing" to "captured" and the news media have responded with a collective yawn.

Jon Scott on Fox News Live (June 30, 9:09 a.m. EDT) gave Hassoun's story barely a mention, despite the fact that the group holding him has threatened to behead him if their demands for release of prisoners are not met.

Where is the outrage that an American POW is about to be murdered? Guess we can't call him a POW because Bush declared the war over more than a year ago.
