Reported by Chrish - June 30, 2004 -
On Fox News Live June 29, 19 seconds at 3:04pm EDT were devoted to this sorry news... the very day after we "handover" sovereignity to the Iraqis,
the US Army is calling up 6,000 retired and discharged soldiers for possible service in Iraq and Afghanistan. (As of midnight, the Fox website has upped that number to 7,500.) These men and women are subject to "involuntary recall".
Comment: This was reported so quickly and with such little fanfare that one would almost think it was being intentionally buried. Maybe they were just short of time because it was such a busy news day.
But wait, on this show 3 minutes were devoted to wicked weather in various parts of the country, 4 minutes to an historian calling the early turnover "brilliant", 2 1/2 minutes to Fox polls, and 2 1/2 minutes to trash Fahrenheit 9/11.
I report, you decide.
