Bush Freebies
Reported by Eleanor - June 29, 2004 -
On two hours of Fox & Friends (June 29, 8:00-10:00 am ET), President Bush's wanderings in Europe were covered every fifteen minutes, as he got on Air Force One, shook hands and waved; the plane was shown as it took off from Turkey, and left for Istanbul, with Fox talking points about the coup at NATO yesterday playing in the background.
This free air time was punctuated with comments, such as by Bill Sammon, Washington Times Correspondent, i.e., "Kerry said Iraq was in no shape for sovereignty. Kerry's main issues have slowly evaporated. The economy is good, and this is the beginning of the end of the Iraq story. Bush is still in a rough spot with his approval rating extremely low, but four months before the election is better than four days."
Comment: Fox followed Bush's every move, without any reference to what Kerry is doing today. The free election coverage that Fox gives to Bush should come under the campaign finance law.
