Meet The New Jihad

Michael Ware, Time Magazine journalist, made an appearance, on At Large, to talk about the new Jihad. (6/27/04 10:30 PM)
Michael Ware wrote a recent piece for Time Magazine entitled, "Meet The New Jihad". He described this new breed of terrorist in Iraq, for Geraldo, stating that the enemy has changed from the Suni insurgents to a new global jihad. "An Osama Bin Laden brand" of terrorist who wants to change Iraq into an Islamic State, obeying Allah.
"A year ago they were drinking and whoring and taking care of their families. They have Fallujah. They want a safe haven in Iraq."
Comment: "An Osama Bin Laden brand" of terrorist sure makes a clear connection for the viewers. The Al Qaeda tag may not be strong enough to prepare everyone for an "October Surprise."
