Who's Preaching Hate to Whom?

Reported by Melanie - June 25, 2004 -

Today on Dayside w/Linda Vester, Vester hosted guest Yigal Carmon of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). Vester introduced the segment by saying: "The Saudis are in deep trouble today, nailed by their hate speech." Some of their state sponsored TV is "preaching hate against Americans."

Carmon said "many of the programs preach hate," and that they make "calls for jihad against Americans," and are "calling for people to express their hatred to it [America]."

COMMENT: I find any talk, on any Fox program, ever, having anything at all to do with other media outlets anywhere in the world preaching hate, to be just about the most hypocritical of Fox's storylines. If you watch Fox at all (or read this blog regularly), you probably know about Bill O'Reilly's boycott of Canadian goods because that country accepted two (not two hundred, or two thousand) US conscientious objectors into its fold.

You know that at the conclusion of his June 17, 2004 program O'Reilly reminded viewers they could buy "Boycott France" bumper stickers at his website.

You know that Linda Vester, on her May 27, 2004 show, promoed an upcoming story by saying: "Coming up, there's even more to tell you about that one-eyed radical cleric" (the arrest of Abu Hamza Al-Masri in London), and later, "Now to the arrest today of that one-eyed radical cleric."

Keep reading over the coming months. You'll see how Fox preaches hate of it's own kind, in it's own way.
