Cheney on Using the "F" Word

Reported by Melanie - June 25, 2004 -

Today at l:38 p.m. ET on Dayside w/Linda Vester, Vester rushed the viewers to new video of an interview that "just took place" between Neil Cavuto and Dick Cheney, to be aired in its entirety on Neil Cavuto's Your World program at 4:00 p.m. ET today.

Anxious to help Cheney and the Republican party in damage control over the issue of Cheney telling Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) to "f**k off" during a photo section at the Capital building on Tuesday, Vester ran the video:

Cheney (smiling and sort of giggling throughout this clip, as Cavuto played along): "I expressed in no uncertain terms my views of his conduct, and walked away."

Cavuto: "Did you curse at him?"

Cheney: "Probably."

Cavuto: "Do you have any regrets?"

Cheney: "No."

COMMENT: On the day in 2000, when George Bush announced Cheney's selection as his vice presidental running mate, Cheney said this: "I look forward to working with you, Governor, to change the tone in Washington, to restore a spirit of civility and respect and cooperation."
