Stooping to their level

"Major Bob" Bevelacqua, guest of Shepard Smith on FNL June 23, suggested at 3:25pm EDT that the United States has to "fight fire with fire; we probably need to cut off some heads too."
Shepard Smith is not horrified in the least and calmly reads the next question to Major Bob.
Comment: This is apparently the same type of mindset that led to the prisoner abuse in Iraq (and now we're reading about worse abuse in Afghanistan).
Earlier in the week Shepard was quaking with righteous indignation and fury at the barbaric murder of Kim Sun-Il. Today when one of our guys says well maybe we should give them a taste of their own medicine, it appears to be okey-dokey with Shep. Are we being set up for unthinkable horrors to come?
Major Bob says we need to threaten the terrorists , but they are not afraid to die. I sympathize with his frustration. We simply can't go there and it shouldn't even be suggested, and Shepard Smith should have told him so.
