Gore, Of Course
Reported by Deborah - June 24, 2004 -
Taking on Al Gore after his speech today in D.C. was first
on Hannity's agenda, of course.(6/24/04 9PM ET)
Hannity had Laura Ingraham, republican strategist, to
support him in his attack of Al Gore. Jamal Simmons,
democratic strategist, was there to give the impression
of balance but Hannity and Ingraham never let him speak.
Not wanting to get into the issues presented in Gore's
speech, Hannity played the tape of his earlier speeches
laughing and making his very tired remarks about Gore
"being unhinged" Ingraham joined in the fun with,
"Have you ever seen Al Gore and Michael Moore in the
same room?"
At 9:05 Jamal Simmons tried to speak and Hannity rudely
dismissed him saying,
"I asked Laura ,Jamal. I asked Laura."
Colmes arrives on cue and brings up a valid point about
Cheney lying about the Mohammed Atta meeting in Prague
so Simmons got to speak for one minute in response.
Hannity and Ingraham finished the segment with all the
well worn GOP excuses for the administration without
actually exploring what Al Gore had said in his speech.
Comment: Although this was typical Hannity strategy, the
spark wasn't there for Sean. He must be tired of constantly
defending the undefendable. His material is getting old
since he has used it against Kerry, Kennedy, Dean, and
Moore and even the raw rhetoric of Ingraham had no punch.
