Two Wrongs Make A Right
Reported by Deborah - June 22, 2004 -
Michael Ledeen, American Enterprise Institute, brought some footage
of torture done during Saddam's rule, that he claimed the media has
ignored.(6/21/04 9:23 PM)
The grainy film shows bare backed prisoners being flogged with a
pole. Ledeen claimed that a press conference had previously been
called by Rick Santorum, R. Pennsylvania, but nobody showed up.
Ledeen and Hannity agreed that the media purposely ignored this
story to make Bush look bad.
Hannity claimed that all the media shows is "guys with underpants
on their heads and leashes," and the beheadings of Perle and Berg
are never shown. He continued to try to minimize the severity of the
prison abuse at Abu Ghraib." The Pentagon has tons of this stuff so
why aren't we seeing it?"
Comment: Are we supposed to feel better about torturing people because
Saddam did it too? Do these films, make the atrocities committed by
our soldiers justified? In fact, the floggings in these films are tame
compared to the twisted and sadistic methods of torture condoned by this
administration. We all know that Saddam Hussein was a brutal dictator but
we did not know, until recently, that we were no better .
