Controversial Idea: Innocent Until Proven Guilty

Reported by Judy - June 4, 2004 -

You'd think with all the high-profile trials that Fox News follows, Jon Scott of Fox News Live would have picked up a few of the details of how the American justice system works. You might think that, but you'd be wrong.

On June 4, Scott was dutifully promoting another Fox show, "On the Record with Greta Van Susktern," featuring an interview with O.J. Simpson.

Scott said Simpson did not "shy away from controversy" in the interview, making statements such as blaming Nicole Simpson for her own death because she hung out with a bad crowd. Simpson even went so far, according to Scott, as to say that he (Simpson) "believes Kobe Bryant and Michael Jackson are innocent until proven guilty."

What radical idea is next? Trial by jury?
