Cavuto Spins For Bush

Reported by Melanie - June 4, 2004 -

Thirteen minutes into Dayside w/Linda Vester, Neal Cavuto comes on to tout the May jobs numbers (up 248,000) and to say it's "very encouraging for the economy."

At one point Vester says "We don't want to be seen as sort of cheering for the Bush administration" so she quotes something Kerry said about job losses, which Cavuto immediately disputes and spins in favor of the Bush administration.

COMMENT: Vester's comment that "we don't want to be seen as sort of cheering for the Bush administration," is, of course hillarious because that's all they do. Then, she asks a question about Kerry's position (as a bonus, appearing to be "fair and balanced"), when the whole reason for asking the question is to have Cavuto knock it down.

Additionally,Cavuto comes on a lot when the news is good, to crow for the Bush administration and drive home those numbers, or when it's so bad he needs to do emergency spin work about why things aren't as bad as they may seem.
