More on Fahrenheit 9/11

Reported by Melanie - May 25, 2004 -

Linda Vester today on Dayside: "There's a new crop of Hollywood films coming out and some of them may not be fair and balanced."

In an exchange with Fox reporter Trace Gallagher, in which Gallagher is quick
to point out that Cannes is, afterall, in FRANCE!, Gallagher speaks about Michael Moore's film, Fahrenheit 9/11, and the "seven" films coming out this summer that favor progressive candidates or causes.

(COMMENT: I can't help but interject my own reaction here which is YIKES! I'm so glad Fox News is on top of this issue, being the standard bearers of "fair and balanced" that they are!)

Gallagher says that, according to Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard, "Michael Moore is an outright liar..., that some films will be released in September... the worst" time to do so, and "the reasoning has got some people shak'in their heads."

A five to eight second clip of Fahrenheit 9/11 is shown (Bush hitting a golf ball and hoisting a fish onto a boat, presumably off Kennibunkport). Vester turns to the audience and asks: "Fair and balanced?"

Vester again turns to the audience and asks whether it thinks "Hollywood has an agenda?" Roughly half the people raise their hands. Vester shoves a mic into the face of one man who says it's the "little digs" that bother him. Vester says "Oh, yeah, I've heard that." (Maybe on her own show?)
